I’m on a podcast!

I had the pleasure of talking to Nathaniel of Daily Travel Podcast last month. Thanks to the internet, we were able to connect between Seoul, Korea and Boston, USA. And now our conversation became a podcast! What a wonderful world we live in. We talked about travel, inspiration, and everything in-between.

What we cover:

  • How Juno discovered a love for travel and found her path as a travel blogger
  • Juno’s transformative experience with a person she met and the ways in which that person helped her experience the world, in New Zealand speaking
  • Her career break experience road-tripping in the United States.
  • How she’s making a new career from her travels.
  • The ways in which she’s empowering Asian women to explore the world by planning meet ups and events.

Speaking of empowering Asian women…

Asian Women’s Empowerment 2014

“Overcoming Challenges”

And it’s the time of the year… Asian Women’s Empowerment 2014 is less than two weeks away!

Asian Women’s Empowerment (AWE) is my passion project that I started last year which is dedicated to raising awareness and promoting empowerment of women in Asian communities, and to encourage Asian women to follow their dreams and thrive with an independent lifestyle. After the success of AWE ’13 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, we were convinced that this kind of event and organization was what all participants were looking for. This year, with the help of a great team, we are hosting the second event in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.

AWE is not about forming a feminist movement or an exclusive women’s club. It is a conference for both men and women of Asia to participate and collaborate on the possibilities and potentials in a social and positive environment.

The AWE ‘14 will feature an inspiring program and workshops designed to promote empowerment and independence of women, to encourage and enable Asian women to break social molds and restrictions to follow their dreams and achieve their ambitions in a male-dominated society. We will cover a wide range of topics such as freelancing, secrets of supermoms, dealing with medical conditions on the road, wildlife conservation, and environmental issues.

We have a group of passionate people working together, but we need as much as support we can get. I have reduced the attendee price hoping to encourage more women from as many countries as possible. Despite the registration fee being relatively high for participants in this region of the world, the fee still doesn’t cover our operating costs.

Many of you helped us make a better event last year by being a conference benefactor and honorary member.

That’s it for now. This week I have a lot of appointments to attend due to AWE ’14. There are challenges. It’s a hard work. But I’m sure it will be very rewarding at the end. I’m demonstrating our theme of the year, “Overcoming Challenges”.

  1. So great to have you on the show, Juno! I love everything you’re doing.

Btw, I’m in Boston – not New Jersey. 😉
