As much as Yangshuo is a beloved travel destination, it welcomes travelers with the broad selection of food. I had some hard time to find myself enjoying the area, but eventually I discovered right places with the right food. Even we met a restaurant owner who are interested in showing his kitchen and cooking skills. You can check the “Beerfish” video that I made with Harry. They have a rich selection of fresh water fish and snails from Li River, chickens around the countryside – even alive, claypot rice and there’s the famous Guilin rice noodle. Even there are more choices in the market for fruits and bake goods. Also there are numbers of cafes and bars that suit backpackers’ needs. Cafes with both Chinese and western food, quiet and comfortable atmosphere, good quality coffee and there’s even wi-fi. There are photos of food that I enjoyed in Yangshou, China.

Hi Juno,
I am just about to go out and get some Chinese food. I planned to before I saw this post. Wish I could order some Guilin rice noodles here.
You said you had a hard time enjoying the Yangshuo area and in another post you mentioned that Jinghong, Xishuangbanna was one of the few areas in China you liked. What was it that you didn’t like about China?
Thanks for the photos.
Ohh Juno, I’m so hungry now. I was just in Yangshuo for a month and had a great time eating all these same dishes, loved them! The Li River snails were so good too!
Oh the snail……. I didn’t expect it to be that good! Oh boy. It was hard at first, but we enjoyed staying in Yangshuo.
