7 Super Shots with Hostel Bookers
I’m thrilled to participate 7 Super shots with Hostelbookers.com.
It’s currently the hottest photography round up posts on social media, and I’m proud to be one of the members to participate. Thanks Erica from Over Yonderlust to nominate me. (If you haven’t followed them, please do!)
Basically, you select your photos for the best ones that you feel fit perfectly in the categories listed. You can read the rules here. It took me quite a long time to choose these shots and frankly I’m still deciding, but I’m proud of these shots.
Check out other round up posts throught #7SuperShots on Twitter.
Here are my 7 Super Shots. Enjoy!
1. A photo thatโฆtakes my breath away
Taken at Lake Tekapo, New Zealand. It was a peaceful and beautiful town. It was in the middle of winter, and no one was around. Lake Tekapo is well known for transit ย place so I was basically only one traveler who were staying in the town. I only had a small point-and-shoot camera, but most of the photo I took in Lake Tekapo would take my breath away. Maybe because I loved the time so much, but it is really beautiful.
2. A photo thatโฆmakes me laugh or smile
This is one of my “America, You are Funny! –ย Remarkable signs around the country” collection. Yes ma’am, that’s why we all need a cup of coffee in the morning.
3. A photo thatโฆmakes me dream
Borneo sunset. There’s something magical about sunset in Borneo. The colour is so vivid, and it feels like I’m looking a water colour painting that is on the painting process.
4. A photo thatโฆmakes me think
This photo was taken in Gettysburg Battlefield, PA, USA. During the tour, Carl who guided us for two days point out this specific place. And this was the very point of snipers during the civil war. I was down on my knees to see the view and I could see why. The whole experience of Gettysburg blew my mind. The first time I learned about the Civil war, and the amount of consequences from the war wereย enormous.
5. A photo thatโฆmakes my mouth water
Poutine! Enough said. The day I ate Canadian Food, my taste bud thanked me. Shame I have no way to get this now, in Laos!
6. A photo thatโฆtells a story
This photo is taken in Jianshui, Yunnan Province, China. It was the very first town I liked in China, and the reason was these people. People in Jianshui knew how to enjoy life. They were singing and dancing under the Chaoyang Gate in the afternoon. This man invited us to take photos and videos of him playing this musical instrument. He was playing and his friend was singing.
7. A photo thatโฆI am most proud of (aka my worthy of National Geographic shot)
I spend two days up in the mountain to take a series of star trail photos and this is one of them. It was in the middle of the freezing winter, and it was the very first time I thought ‘this is how people die because of the cold.’
I spent good amount of time in my life to take star trail photos and to this day, this is one of my greatest star trail photos. And this makes me want to take more shots. I love long exposure photos, andย especiallyย night sky ones.
I took this with my film camera; Pentax MX + 24mm Kย lens.
Iโm nominating the following 5 fellow bloggers to participate in the 7 Super Shots:

Now going to read your post on Canadian food as I’m really not sure what that is with those chips! But it looks delicious anyway.
Thanks Kathryn! Oh those poutines… those are the best. ๐ Yeah, sometimes you have to beat the physical pain to get a great photo. Life of a photographer ain’t easy. ๐
Love the star trail photo! That takes patience – I have yet to try it!
Thanks Suzanne! I should do this more often but I don’t have my film camera with me! ๐ It’s fun. Requires a lot of patience but you can forget all about it when you see the product. ๐
