*Location : Auckland Zoo, Auckland, New Zealand
*Occasion : When I decided to go to New Zealand, I was really looking forward to see some animals. New Zealand is all about nature. I have this wild dream to see a lot of animals. I grew up in the city, so all animals I could see were my dog at home or caged animals at the zoo and they didn’t look happy.
So Auckland Zoo was on my list. I didn’t plan that much (always..), but I wanted to do certain things including Zoo.
And it was the best Zoo I’ve ever been to. All the animals look happy, cages are low, other species are living together – of course, that’s the way it is in the nature!-, and again, they look happy. Oh and don’t get me wrong, carnivores were caged properly. 🙂
I had such a good time. Wild animals! Fascinating….

And this peacock was just flying around the Zoo as well! Very surprised. In the Zoo I knew, peacock was caged, because he could fly..? and probably ranaway? But not here! He is happy and doesn’t want to runaway from this place!.

I am such a sucker for zoos. I have an urge to visit them in almost every city we go to.

I’ve been to quite a few places in the US, seen London’s and Osaka has my favorite aquarium.
More places to visit are gorilla trekking safari in Bwindi, Wildlife safaris and chimpanzee trekking safari.
Great photos! It looks like you were in the wild on safari and not at a zoo. How did you get so close to the animals? Those cage walls must be super low!
That was the best part of Auckland Zoo. The animals live together like real nature, cage was super low, and birds are just flying around! Chickens were just wandering around, same as ducks. It’s like farm, not a zoo. Aww New Zealand..!!
