It’s not a budget friendly place for a backpacker. For HK $399 (US $60), I can do so many things. Though, I visited here again. I made myself an excuse; because I like it. Moreover, Hong Kong Disneyland just opened Toy Story Land and it’s their 5th year anniversary. Which means: special parade! Michael and I explored Hong Kong Disneyland when he was traveling in Hong Kong.
It was a beautiful winter day in Hong Kong. And because it was Monday, we could enjoy the park without any traffic. No queue for any ride; even for Space Mountain, and the park was pleasant to walk with only a few people around.
New Toy Story Land looked just like the movie Toy Story. The new ride that looked like a toy was actually a pretty scary one. Just looked around the park made me feel happy. Of course, I was happy to see one of my favourite toy when I was a kid: Tinkertoy.
We watched few theatre shows this time. Lion King and Golden Mickey. I like how they include Mulan in every part of the park and the show.
Maybe this is not the happiest place on earth, but pretty close!

Great stuff Juno….I’m a huge Disney geek and hope to make it to Hong Kong and Tokyo one day to say I’ve seen them all!
What a *MAGICAL* day! I could not think of a more perfect person to spend the day with at Disneyland. It was a perfect start to an amazing holiday in Hong Kong, thank you.
Thanks for the fabulous photos; I felt like a movie star that day!
I had a good time too! Disney sure knows how to make people happy. Glad you had such a great time in Hong Kong. Hong Kong wasn’t same without you after you left!
I am totally going to visit Hong Kong Disney now that I’ll be living in China. Very excited after reading your entry and seeing all of your pictures 🙂
Are you living in China now? When did it happen? Where are you going to live?
Looks like you had an awesome time! Sometimes it is worth splurging on a trip 🙂
I really did! Yeah, it was expensive but worthwhile. Those Disney movies I watched as a kid….. 🙂
These are nice pictures of the event Junno. Visiting Disneyland always has this effect of letting out my childish side. I like the wait always maintained being magical. The Toy Story theme looks exciting, I can’t wait to experience what they have to offer. Thank you for sharing.
Ooooh! Hong Kong Disneyland looks very different from Disney World! Disney World doesn’t have a Toy Story Land–which looks very cool! Great photos. I’m not surprised Tinker Toys were your favorites; after all, you did become an engineer. BTW, love the Otter Creek tee! 🙂
I knew you’d like this post! Hong Kong Disneyland is different, so I’ve heard (I wouldn’t know because I haven’t been to any of the places yet!). My friend Michael used to work at Disney World in Florida, and he filled me in about other Disneylands.
haha my love of Tinker Toys and LEGO indicate that I was a nerd from the starters! 🙂
