It was like watching a documentary; for the two hours of flight from Spokane, WA to Denver, CO. I had a free TV playing Hitch, but I couldn’t concentrate. The weather was perfect the whole way. There was nothing but the air in between our plane to the landscape.
The flight left from Spokane, WA and flew over Idaho, Wyoming, and Colorado. I watched the changing scenery while driving all the way to Colorado from Virginia, but that was the furthest I could get. It was the mighty Rocky Mountains. Snowcap on the top, all the ridges, desert, and lake; everything was very wild and dry. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas, that there’s nothing like this place on earth. I haven’t been to a lot of those places yet, but as watching the scenery of Wyoming and Colorado, I think I understood what they meant.
If you haven’t had a chance to visit those places, see these photos I took from the airplane. I matched some of them with Google Maps. I can’t believe how close we were.

Nice post…love seeing the landscape from that perspective! That’s why I always get the window seat.
You are always welcome in Utah!
One word : Breathtaking! Gosh! I wish I was on that airplane as well!
One thing I love about riding an airplane is the aerial view. I may look like a child looking down on the window everytime but I love watching the miniature islands, mountain tops, and the cities. I absolutely enjoyed your photos here. 😀
Thanks Sabrina! That’s exactly why I love the window seats as well. This was a whole different view! The Rocky Mountains are amazing.
Wow! Great photos! What camera did you use? I always feel silly with a big DSLR on the plane! 🙂
