Working at the Lake View Office, Why Not?

USA-Back-Lake-NH

Travel blogger is almost a dream job for many of us. Traveling and working at the same time?! Why not? But just like any other job in the world, sometimes it is hard to maintain. Love and hate relationship, right? But as much as I want to be online and update my blog all the time during my travels, I want to have a break from the world of wireless internet. Sometimes the world does that for me just by putting me into a place where I cannot find a signal. But sometimes I have to do that for myself. We bloggers are totally addicted to wireless internet. (admit it!)

I did a favour for myself by going camping at Lake Francis for two days. Lake Francis is out in the wild, in the very north of New Hampshire. So yes, there was no wireless internet connection. I was just out in nature. After two days of detox, it was time to go back to work. We stayed at Tall Timber Lodge at Back Lake, a bit smaller lake near Lake Francis. We weren’t sure that place had wifi but they did, thank god (or oh, god ?!).

Back Lake and Lake Francis New Hampshire

Two days straight I was working at the office that has a beautiful view of Back Lake. I could hear duckies out of my window instead of a loud conference call, I was sitting on the couch with my laptop and put my legs up to a coffee table instead of sitting at the cubicle, wearing a suit. Who would’ve thought I could do that, creating my own office in a remote place like this. Working hours were longer than my previous day job for sure, but it was a much better work environment and it was work for myself, not for others. How can I not like working and having a homemade sandwich and beer for lunch?

One top of that, the restaurant Rainbow Grill, located in Tall Timber Lodge is well known for their seafood. One of the best seafood restaurants in the east coast, according to my friend from New Hampshire. So we didn’t even have to leave the lodge to get food.

My photos will speak louder than my writing.

Check out the photos from my temporary office in Back Lake, New Hampshire.

The View

Ducks around the lake had no fear toward people. Maybe they were used to people who were feeding them. Duckies! I saw how they sleep for the first time. Oh, wildlife.

The Atmosphere

I liked the atmosphere of Tall Timber Lodge and Back Lake. It felt like sitting in a country home. Very easy and friendly to work.

The Food

The pizza from the attached Tavern was excellent. And if you are there, try seafood pie from Rainbow Grill. To die for!
