Yosemite National Park is… hard to describe.
The great Ansel Adams once said, “You don’t make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.”
That’s one of the reasons why I love photography as an art form, a way to express emotions, as well as capturing the moment. One photograph can tell so many stories. I was in the Yosemite National Park for just a couple of days and got to live within the spirits of Ansel Adams. I’ve seen one of the most beautiful views in my life here. My heart sank when dramatic views came into sight. I’ll never forget that feeling.
After all these years of traveling, sometimes I wondered if I was becoming too dull for new experiences. However, being in Yosemite National Park completely overturn my doubts. The wonder, the emotions, the awe, yes, I still have it in me.
I could’ve just sat here for days, watching the clouds go by, seeing the stars rise and fall, photographing these views under the morning and evening lights. As Ansel Adams said, photography is more than clicking a button. The same goes for traveling. Traveling is more than visiting places. It combines all your experiences. The memories you make, the people you’re with, the small blissful moments, and the emotions you experience. Yosemite National Park is certainly one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been but it was more special because the trip was a collection of great moments that I cherish for a lifetime. It was a life-changing place for Ansel Adams and countless people over history, and I can see why.
I’m having a hard time editing photos, because, well, it’s so much more beautiful in real life. How can I capture this grandeur of nature in my little camera? But as always, photography is a method of delivering stories and emotions, so hopefully, you’re able to feel what I felt through these images.
