Runaway Photo of the week: Waitakere Range, New Zealand

Top of the world!

#Location : Waitakere Range Regional Park, New Zealand

#Occasion : Hopefully I was allowed to climb up there. 🙂

This is  a scenic park in the Waitakere Ranges. In 1940, the citizens of Auckland Celebrated their centennial year. A decision was made to create a scenic park in the Waitakere Ranges. The following year the Auckland centennial memorial park act was passed and a board established to manage the new park the Auckland Regional Council took over management of the part in 1964. Ongoing donations, transfers and purchased of land have enlarged the park to over 16,000 hectares.

This photos shows the typical New Zealand driving roads. I once learn all the highway in New Zealand is curvy because they tried not to hurt tne nature. Result, from Wellington to Auckland takes over 8 hours, people are okay with that. (It would only take 3 hours in Korea)

Think about driving the road. Isn’t it wonderful?

And there was a photo point with the frame, literally. You can make a beautiful postcard-photo with the frame like this. Cute mother-son couple, my friends Diana and her son Keanu.

And.. people asked me how I climb up there. I reveal the secret for you. 🙂

Viola!

Beautifully carved. History in New Zealand is really new to me, and I found it very interesting.
