Runaway Photo: Wat Arun, Bangkok, Thailand

*Location : Wat Arun(Temple of Dawn), Bangkok, Thailand

*Occasion : I would deliberately make this shot with this angle, but there was another reason why I had to take it like this. We actually locked out of Wat Arun. I wanted to do at least one touristy thing in Bangkok. Normally I don’t like to be in crowded place or doing what everybody is doing, but some things are just meant to be done. So, we’ve decided to go to Wat Arun. It sounds perfect from the guide book. Got a boat at Central Pier in Saphan Taksin. 14 + 3 baht per person, what a bargain, huh? But the thing was, it was closed by the time we got there. Thought it opens till 10pm and since the name is ‘temple of dawn’, it would be more friendly at night. But no. Open till 10pm means just the communal area, maybe.

When the little boat crossed the river, sun was slowly going down. Just like the name-Temple of Dawn- it looked amazing with a bit of sunset.

We didn’t have a chance to see temple closely but walked around the temple along the fence was just as good as going inside. I enjoyed the whole picture of shrine from the far. It was the view. It looked a lot like Cambodian temple, and outstanding or course.
