Gold and orange. Possibly these are the colors that can represent Luang Prabang. Gold from temples and monasteries and orange of monk’s robe. You can see the gold painted stupa on the top of the hill, walk with the monks along the river and pass through temples. Also, it’s clean and pleasant. It is an atmospheric town, and that’s the main reason why travelers love Luang Prabang so much.
Though it was not my favorite place in Laos but certainly, it was charming. One day we walked around the temples in town and capture the temple architectures and surroundings.
The novice monks were awfully friendly to visitors. When we walked into Wat Monorom, a monk named Son started to talk to us. He was practicing his English with his little English phrase book. He asked us how many family members do we have, where we are from and what do we do for a living. He said he’s not allowed to drink beer but he’s allowed to have friends.
Sun was setting, and the monks were preparing their evening prayer session, which will be in 15 minutes. They invited us to sit with them and listen to the chanting. And they allowed us to take photography of them.
