Runaway Juno: Juno’s Bangkok Diary – Food edition, Obviously

When you say ‘I’m going to Bangkok.’ then there’s one thing you always hear from people.

That is ‘food’.

Apparently Bangkok is like a food heaven. You can find whatever you want, whenever you want, and wherever you want. Well, to be honest our food hunting in Bangkok was not always very immediate and direct, but it was a successful run. You’ll see in a minute after I finish my lame excuses about why I ate so much in Bangkok and my argument of ‘trust me eating was not the only thing I did in BKK’.

I don’t even remember how many different dishes I had. Okay, there’s a series of food and delicacies I encountered in Bangkok, but I must say, I didn’t even take photos of many of other dishes I had. Why? Who knows, maybe I was just too excited to have food… That I do sometimes.

Not only every each meal, there were countless fruits such as Durian (yes, durian), Papaya, Mango, Pineapple, 10 baht orange juice. And dumplings on the street, vegetable pancake at the market, meat on a stick, something on a stick, and small little snacks on the street. Oh and the sweetest desert I’ve ever had (literally and spiritually) in India town.

Now, enough said, just talke a look and be prepared to be hungry.

Prawn and.. something

Healthy prawn and fish sauce (maybe). Even though it makes a great photo, we didn’t really care for it. It was too much everything.

Chicken feet noodle

Chicken noodle with actual chicken feet in it. With few knuckles too. You can choose the noodle. And I have no idea what the lady spread on the top of the noodle. I liked the wide noodle anyway. And it was delicious.

Noodle and Phat Thai

Pat Thai (finally!) and a bowl of pork noodle at Catuchack Market.

Hot plate of Pork and vegetable mix
Hot plate of pork and vegetable mix. Took 10 minutes to cook it. You can choose from Chicken, seafood and pork. And also choose how much spicy you want. We went to ‘not so’ spicy. At Khao San rd.

Great vegetable mix
Great Vegetable mix with oyster sauce. It was simple and delicious. At Silom.

Noodle, Phat Thai and ice tea
Pat Thai and a pork noodle, the whole table. But I wanted to take a pic of those little seasonings you can add to food. In every table of street food stall you can find those little things easily. Red pepper powder, peanut powder sometimes, picked red petter, and sugar (maybe). Be careful though, some of them are damn spicy.

Fish and chicken curry.
Local curry buffet restaurant. I was not a buffet just there was many options of curry to choose. We had fish curry and chicken curry with noodle. The little things on the table is for your pleasure. Several different vegetables, and some of them I have no idea what those are, but it’s fun to taste them all.

A stall full of Thai curry
Curry stall in Khao San Rd. We had a great mix of vege curry and chicken curry and at the end of the meal we stuck here due to heavy-seriously- rain. Ah, tropical weather.

Marshmallow snack
‘had to eat just because curious’ snack on the street. Turns out that white mushy is marshmallow. 10 baht for two, not a bad deal.

Banana, egg & butter
And one of my favourite, banana pancake, or roti. I was hooked by the making process, and it was so good. Well, the concentrated milk was just too sweet (we had to stop him to spread more sugar on top), but since I was a bit tired and all, it was great. Yum!!
