Château Frontenac, the historic building located in Quebec City, is the most photographed hotel in the world and the most famous landmark of Quebec City, Quebec. Just like the reputation, most of the postcards I could found were featured with Château Frontenac. This building also can be seen from most parts of the city. The hotel roof was under construction when I was there. Though as you can see from the photo, this day in Quebec City was one of the nicest days in the whole three months of US/Quebec trip. Château Frontenac: Built in seven stage from 1892-1893, this building is an excellent example of the Chateau-Style hotels built by Canada’s railway companies. Enhanced by a magnificent site, the hotel evokes the romanticism of the 14th and 15th century chateaux of the Loire Valley. In creating the original design, Bruce Price abandoned the classical symmetry of these models in favour of the picturesque eclecticism popular in the late 19th century. Later additions by architects Painter and Maxwell and by the ARCOP firm respect the original sprit of its imposing silhouette, which has become a landmark of Old Quebec.
