THREE YEARS (of Alaska and America) ✌🏼👆🏼⁠

This week marks my third America and #Alaska-versary. Three years ago yesterday, I entered the US via Honolulu Airport in Hawai'i, handed my visa and immigration documents to the customs officer, and started the new journey in the new world. Three years; that's the longest I've ever lived anywhere since I left grad school a little over 11 years ago. So how was the last three years? Dynamic. Complex. Exciting. Adventurous. Spiritual. And many other words in my lexicon would be suitable too. The last three years wasn't the easiest but certainly colorful. When I decided to leave my whole world all that years ago, I thought to myself that I would live life colorfully rather than in a grayscale. Although there will be a lot of challenges along the way, I would never become monochrome. And I hope that I still have that determination. So yes, the last three years certainly weren't in a grayscale. Alaska is a special place. It's a place that a lot of people want to visit. It's on people's so-called 'bucket list'. We are surrounded by the most beautiful nature, amazing wildlife, and an abundance of space. I'm thankful. And I'm grateful for the small but affectional communities that I got to be part of, and appreciate your love and care. Thanks for all the sleepless nights of northern lights hunting, buckets of wild berries, foraging opportunities, knowledge of medicinal plants, wilderness experiences, wildlife sightings, Alaskan Native language lessons, and most of all, your friendship. You know who you are. Here's to another season of northern lights hunting and more Alaskan adventures that will paint my life with bright colors! ✨🌈⁠

PATTERNS I’m always in awe at nature’s abilit $PATTERNS I’m always in awe at nature’s ability to create. Forming all shapes and sizes, especially fractal-like patterns. I love looking at details in glacial ice. Sand dunes have amazing shapes on the surface and they constantly change. Waterways are always full of dynamic patterns. Living in Alaska, I sometimes get chances to fly in small planes over this great land. Many parts of Alaska are free of human interruption, being there, left alone only to wildlife and other natural beings. These shots are taken from a small plane while flying over Southwest of Alaska. ✈️ Over and over again, I’m reminded that I am a small part of nature’s history, not the other way around. Nature is inspiring, isn’t it? #bucketliving #stayandwander$
