Eight Elephants Hostel in Taipei, Taiwan

Looking for a good hostel in Taipei?

Find a right place to stay is a key for a good trip planning. If you are scheduled to visit Taiwan’s capital city Taiwan, I recommend you to stay at the Eight Elephants Hostel. Eight Elephants Hostel, more well known as EE Hostel is one of the friendliest hostels I’ve ever been and many would agree with me.

Location

Taipei has a great MRT (Metropolitan Rapid Transit) system. EE Hostel located in near the Guting station, three stations down from Taipei Main Station. It’s near the city center but the neighborhood of the hostel is very quiet and residential. It can be a bit hard to find from the MRT station, but just carefully follow the description on the website. There’s little pink elephant up on the front door you can’t miss. Very charming.

Description

The EE hostel consists of two stories. Kitchen, shared shower rooms, and private rooms are placed in the ground floor and mixed dorm and living room are in the basement. All the unique and creative decoration would make you feel like being in a Taiwanese home.

The hostel is an early introduction to my backpacking life, and it was a good one. The staff were very friendly. Beds and blankets were squeaky clean, shared bathrooms were clean and nice.

Most of all, the living room was my favorite place of the hostel. It was like hanging out at a friend’s place. There was a TV, board games, DVDs, and books for everyone. It was a rainy holiday; so I had a lot of hanging out to do. I met so many fun friends from all around the world during I was in Taipei in this living room. I might have been in the right places in the right time during this short trip I had.

Price

TWD 490/ night at a mixed dorm [2012]

Like the little elephant– guess it’s a good idea to have such a recognizable marker, when the location is hard to find!
