Runaway Photo: The Gardens by the Bay in Singapore

The Gardens by the Bay is more than a just indoor garden

The Pandora (the city in movie Avatar) must look like this if it exists in the real world. The Na’vi must live around the Supertree and take a bath under the Cloud Forest. Giant dragonfly is a transportation, and so as the skybridge.

I’ve never been that much interested in gardens before. Especially not the paying ones. There are flowers and trees everywhere, and why do we need to spend money to enter the fence? But this time was different. If you are interested in living things in plant form, you’d love the Gardens by the Bay.

Once again, Singapore has done it again. They created a whole new world in the middle of the city. Since the opening in 2011, the Gardens by the Bay attracts locals and travelers from around the world.

The outdoor gardens, where the Supertrees are located, are free admission. You have to pay only to go up to the skyway connecting two Supertrees. The Flower Dome was not just another indoor garden; it is a world of perpetual spring. Unique plants and flowers from all around the world are living here, a scientifically designed glass dome. The shape is designed by the direction of the wind, and the whole indoor is air-conditioned to keep the temperature and moisture content. This is where the temporary exhibit is every two months. The Cloud Forest is 35 meters tall manmade mountain with the tallest indoor waterfall, that mimics 2,000 meters mountain’s vegetation. You can see all the unique plants by descending via two walkways.

I never thought I would be impressed by indoor garden that I have to pay to get in, but here I am preaching about it.

If you are planning to see all the sights in the garden, you will need a full day. Visit their website to find more information.
