Runaway Photo: Monkeys at Angkor Wat

"Do you have some peanut?"

“Got peanuts?”

Among the amazing historic ruins at Angkor Archaeology park, there was one unexpected creature that was waiting for me.

Monkeys.

After one overwhelming day, I was wandering around the outside of Angkor Wat. Walking down the path.. and.. Hello? A monkey was sitting in the middle of the street. Staring at me.

“That’s one serious mohawk!” I said. No answer.

Almost looked like wanted to tell me the biggest secret in the world. He/she might want some food from me but I didn’t have any. Only food I had in my backpack was a bag of seriously-seasoned nuts and an energy bar. And I wasn’t comfortable to gave them processed food.

Thought just walked pass them but they were just sitting there, no movement. So, I took photos.

And turned out, they were everywhere! Not just that path, they were everywhere in and outisde of the park. Monkeys are so mysterious and human-like. Facial expressions are just so funny. I can make dialogue for every photo of them. And feels like I have to treat them like a person.

A monkey with itchy butt. Good for you my friend, I have itchy feet!
