Photos from Southernmost Point of Chiapas, Mexico
We entered to an amazing nature’s scene by a short boat trip from Refugio del Sol, a beach resort at Chocohuital, Chiapas. The boat entered a narrow channel with mangroves, trees, and birds, that meets the Pacific Ocean. It reminded me of the time when I went to see gray whales in Baja California Sur. The long and narrow channel was perfect for the whale mothers and for us observers, and this place had the similar environment. It was an early morning, the sun was just behind the mountains, calm water was reflecting orange sky, and birds were waking up. We cruised around about an hour to enjoy the nature in the morning. I was surprised by how many different kinds of plants were there in one area, including big mangrove bushes. I saw pelicans several times, but they always amaze me. I always thought they would look more comical, but actually they look kind of serious, don’t they? I didn’t get much information from the trip because I was the only international visitor (lack of communication – as I mentioned it on my ATMEX 2013 Recap), but no explanation was necessary to enjoy stunning nature.
