#Occasion : This is the time, time of winter sports! What is your favourite one? Ice skating, snow boarding, skiing or.. swimming in frozen water? 
I prefer snow ball fight but here’s another option has long, long history.
It’s the old school – winter sports. Do you know the ride that Santa rides? That is a Western version of Sleigh. We call this ‘Ssul mae’. It was the most famous winter sports when our parents were little. On the frozen rice paddy, with a wooden plate and poles. It was snowboarding and skiing in the old days.
Korea Folk Village in winter, we can experience Ssul mae. It is not speedy like Skiing, but it has the analogue charm.
I have always wanted to try skiing….maybe someday I should revisit Korea during winter =)

Cool- this is a funky version of sledding/ice skating. Looks like fun! I’ll have to visit the Korean Folk Village so I can check this out

There is something really cute about the simple structure of the ssul mae anf the little pieces of wood used to push yourself forward.
Did anyone attempt to stand on them like a snowboard?

They looks like a heap of fun. Alas there was no snow/ice for me growing up and while people might long for the summer of australia I’m secretly jealous of everyone that grew up with skiing as a kid.

I grew up with four significant seasons, so I don’t know anything about one season living. I would like to live somewhere only in Summer, like California. 
But yes, sleigh, skiing, snowboarding.. Fun! But most of all, snow ball fight is the best.
